Penny and James would like to offer all our guests a very warm welcome to Ford Mill Farm. Our wonderful properties are surrounded by beautiful farmland with lovely mowed walkways giving guests a magical feeling almost as if you're in your own miniature country park. We are located about five miles from the Cornish border which makes this property an ideal base for exploring the magic of both Devon and Cornwall. If you don't want to venture very far then you are very welcome to take lovely walks through our ten-acre farmland. From both the properties you can take a stroll and meander around the boundary, along the river and private lake. With prior arrangement, children and adults can collect the eggs from the free-range hens and also feed the chickens. The North Devon coastline is a short drive away with its many sandy beaches and rocky coastline.
Visitors can relax on the beach or walk the very scenic coastal paths to enjoy beautiful sea views. With popular tourist attractions like Hartland Quay, Westward Ho, and the pretty village of Clovelly nearby. Or you can enjoy a day out at places such as The Milky Way, The Big Sheep, Tapeley Park, and RHS Rosemoor Gardens.
LOCAL SHOPS AND AMENITIES
The village of Woolfardisworthy (known locally as Woolsery) is 2 miles from the property and here you’ll find a well-stocked village shop and post office as well as a nice fish and chip shop and beautiful village pub and restaurant. The seaside village of Westward Ho! is a pleasant 12-mile drive away and is a great place for a long walk or playing bally with your dog due to the wide expanse of flat sands. Traveling a little further into Cornwall you have places like Bude or why not visit Rock near Padstow with its beautiful estuary. Or for a taste of real Cornwall try Port Issac where Doc Martin was filmed. The unique village of Clovelly can be found just 5 miles away and you’ll love wandering down the traffic-free cobbled streets to the harbor at the bottom.
